Guest Blog: Dean Giles on the Marathon Writing Journey (and Marathons)

 

After writing a fantastic guest blog about bad Scifi on my blog, fellow TWB Press author, A J Kirby, let me loose on his to ramble on about marathon training and its similarities to writing…

Your legs are aching with every pounding step. Your chest is heaving with effort. Your muscles are screaming at you, “For the love of God, please stop running!” But, you can’t stop because you’re still 10 miles away from your goal. If you stop you will have lost.

I’m not talking about a race or even a charity run though, this is simply a training run for a marathon. The goal is completely self-inflicted. The pain, you might argue, is unnecessary. Why put yourself through it?
